I have two points of frustration with this purchase. I'm very upset that I was unable to check out with the extended warranty, as there were hiccups in the process. And to my great chagrin, they don't offer you a chance to purchase after the product is purchased, so I can't escape the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop, which is very disconcerting. Also, while the travel bag is perfect for the dryer, that's all that fits! What's one supposed to do with the attachments, such as the diffuser, as pictured here? These issues aside; I will say that it's light, it's powerful and not overly noisy. To be continued...

I have been struggling with finding a blow dryer that is not so loud, as I have sustained hearing loss throughout my life, in part I believe, from using a blow dryer. A friend recommended this one to me, not because she had tried it, but because she had seen an advertisement for it. After researching it and seeing the low decibel level, I wanted to try it. It is the most expensive blow dryer I have had, but I felt it would be worth it if it did what they said. What I found from the very first time I used it is this: it probably cuts the speed of drying down to perhaps a third of what I would have spent before. When the diffuser is off, it is quite quiet, but when you put the diffuser on it does ramp it up a bit. I have found that my curls are more formed and less frizzy with this blow dryer. More than ever before that I've noticed after drying. Here is my only downfall. Where I place my hand seems to either impede the air holes from sucking air in at the bottom, or I accidentally bumps the button right above my hand which controls the heat. The company was great when I said my complaint and offered that I could return it, but I am going to keep it and just learn to deal with it because of the features that I do love about this blow dryer.

I’d never heard of LAIFEN until I saw a you tube hair stylist promoting it. Meanwhile, I had an old, very basic hairdryer that took at least 10 minutes to dry my short hair. It’s heavy and aggravates my shoulder pain so I put off washing my hair as long as possible.

I've been a loyal user of this brand's hair dryers and was always satisfied with their quality, which led me to purchase this new model. This blow dryer was great for about a year until it stopped working. It’s my back up hair dryer now, it either won’t stop blowing air unless you unplug it or the buttons don’t work unless you hold them down completely the whole time, which causes my hand to cramp up after blow drying for a while. Stops working around 1 year. I am a hairstylist and I am on my second one. The first one stopped blowing hot air around the first year. Assuming it was a fluke, I contacted customer support and they were nice and quick to ship me a replacement. It has now been 15 months of using the new one and it stopped blowing hot air as of yesterday. I really like this hair dryer but it doesn’t hold up in the professional environment. Maybe for at home use it would last longer. I will be searching for a new brand.

Are SE Lite hair dryers dual voltage?
Please note that all Laifen hair dryers are not dual voltage. The voltage cannot switch between 110V & 220V, even with an adapter.

The time it takes to dry depends on your hair type. For short hair you can fully dry in as little as 2-3 minutes. If you have longer hair (shoulders & down) it typically takes around 5-12 minutes for a complete dry. If you decide to dry your hair using our diffuser attachment it can take a little longer.
How much does SE Lite actually weigh?
Laifen SE Lite on its own weighs less than 1lb (345g to be exact). For reference of how light this dryer really is, it is around the same weight as a paperback book or a small tablet.
How long will my SE Lite dryer last?
With regular use of about 10 minutes every day, your Swift Special will last for up to 16 years. That’s a lot of great hair days!
How to avoid overheating your hair and scalp?
Laifen hair dryers have a maximum temperature of 85°C to ensure your hair and scalp are safe. However, we still recommend that you keep the nozzle of the hair dryer at an appropriate distance from the hair, at a distance of about 15 centimeters. Choose an appropriate temperature and move the hair dryer from side to side while drying.
